Both Portobelo bay and Isla Grande are popular with divers. Because it was the starting point for the wealth’s transportation from South America to Spain, and because it was a strategic location for pirates and privateers in the 17th century, Portobelo is filled with history. You will dive into waters that were the scene of tormented battles and that have kept the lead coffin of Sir Francis Drake, famous pirate of its time. You will have the opportunity to see the remainings of a plane below. In addition to these sites, you will dive near Mamey Island or Grande Island, both located next to Portobelo.
Day 1 –
Pick-up in private vehicle from your hotel or airport in Panama City to Portobelo. Free diner. 6 nights in a B&B, breakfast included.
Day 2 to 6 –
2 or 3 dives per day
Return in private vehicle to your hotel or aiport in Panama City
Day 7 –
